Bloom's Question 1

How is the size of Mama Bear's porridge bowl, chair, and bed an example of sexism?

(I wrote my example essay in Carlisle's class about this back in September.)

I think this is an example of sexism because Mama Bears bowl, chair, and bed were all medium size. In the story, this shows that women are just medium, they don't have a small role or a big role in anything. Showing that women do not really matter and the actions they take are not seen.

This is an example of sexism because the bowl and the bed are not as big as the papa bear's. This shows that papa bear has more power than mama bear, which is a common conception in many societies. Ultimately, it shows how women have a smaller role than men in society due to the fact that the bowl and the bed resemble the power held in the household.
